I’m a feminine woman with a fairly simple weakness: I love when ordinary life has a little beauty in it. An unplanned trip, sushi ordered for two, music playing while we’re getting ready to go somewhere, a ridiculous joke that becomes “ours”… Those tiny moments usually stay in my memory longer than anything carefully organized.

Pretty Woman is still one of my favorite films, although I’m not waiting for Richard Gere to arrive in a limousine. 😉 I’d much rather meet a man who is confident without performing confidence, keeps his word without making grand speeches, and knows that tenderness and masculinity work surprisingly well together.

I’ve had enough life experience to know that butterflies are wonderful, but they aren’t a relationship. I want the butterflies and the person I can rely on after they calm down.

I think I’ll recognize my man not by his job, watch, or perfectly written profile, but by one very simple feeling — I won’t have to guess where I stand with him.

I want to admire the man beside me. Not because he is flawless, but because of how he thinks, how he handles difficult moments, how he treats people and how seriously he takes the things that matter to him.
